IMAGING SENSOR
MagnaChip Semiconductor Ltd. and
DxO Labs have introduced the MC531EA 3.2-megapixel system-on-chip imaging sensor. It features DxO’s digital optics digital autofocus extended depth-of-field priority, an alternative to mechanical actuator-based autofocusing. The embedded imaging technology, which has no motor or moving parts, enables mobile phone camera modules equipped with fixed-lens optics to deliver sharp images from the foreground through the background. The 1/3.2-in. optical format CMOS sensor features integrated image processing and compression, one-time programmable nonvolatile memory-enabling module serialization and calibration, and other camera functions. Its ARM7TDMI core allows custom-programmed algorithms for autofunction control.
