The BendiGlo, HoloGlo, CircleGlo and Selective Lighting fiber optic illumination technologies from Lumitex Inc. enable designers to backlight or illuminate hard-to-reach areas. The technologies all use an optical fiber mounted on a back reflector to create lighting panels as thin as 0.013 in. A computer-controlled etching process ensures uniform light distribution with brightness to 75 fl and with no heat, electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge. BendiGlo is for use in membrane switches, HoloGlo enables the optical fiber to go between shapes and die-cut holes, and the functions of CircleGlo and Selective Lighting are implied by their names.
