Manufacturer: NEC Compound Semiconductor Devices Ltd.
10-Gb/s OPTICAL MODULES

NEC Compound Semiconductor Devices Ltd. has developed two compact optical modules that perform signal transmission at up to 10 Gb/s over multimode fiber. The NX7320 series transmitter optical subassembly and the NR3420 series receiver optical subassembly facilitate the construction of high-speed networks. They are compliant with the IEEE802.3aq 10GBASE-LRM standard. The transmitters use a proprietary 1.3-μm Fabry-Perot AlGaInAs laser diode, and the receivers use a linear transimpedance amplifier and a PIN photodiode that provides high coupling efficiency. Operating temperature range is –5 to 85 °C. Both are sealed in compact can packages and are compatible with SC and LC connectors.
