DMG Technologies Inc. has introduced avalanche photodiodes in 1.25- and 2.5-Gb/s versions and in three packaging configurations: pigtailed, TO cans and the industry-standard 14-pin butterfly. The InGaAs devices operate from 1250 to 1620 nm with typical sensitivity of –34 dBm. They are supplied with a choice of FC/PC, SC, ST or LC connectors. Three models accommodate various bandwidth, linearity and power dissipation requirements, and three low-noise monolithic microwave integrated-circuit preamplifiers are available. Applications include DWDM telecommunications, analog receivers to 1.8 GHz, digital video and line terminals.
