NEC Tokin Transfers Optical Device Business
In Japan, NEC Tokin Corp. of Miyagi will transfer its optical device business to Seikoh Giken Co. Ltd. of Chiba. The former intends to focus on PC-related equipment, mobile phones, digital consumer electronics and automotive products, and to invest in Proadlizers and laminated manganese-type batteries using its proprietary material technology. Seikoh produces optical disk mold and optical communications devices for information technology markets. It intends to introduce products for global environmental protection.
