The CCD201 introduced by e2v technologies Inc. is a 1-megapixel CCD image sensor for low-light scientific applications. The large-format 1k × 1k 13-µm-pixel sensor provides quantum efficiency of 95% and minimal induced noise. Available in front- and back-illuminated formats that offer subelectron noise and a choice of electron-multiplying or traditional output, the sensor operates at an equivalent output noise of less than one electron at pixel rates of more than 15 MHz.
