International Photonics Commercialization Alliance

The International Photonics Commercialization Alliance held its inaugural meeting and discussions Nov. 9 at the Photonics Center at Boston University, a day prior to the center’s ninth annual symposium on Emerging Opportunities in Photonics, “The Future of Light.”
The nonprofit alliance consists of photonics-related regional clusters, international businesses and government organizations from the US and Canada. Its goal is to lead and support photonics-enabled technologies, offering members assistance in all aspects of commercialization, cultivating new opportunities in the field and providing an interactive environment for entrepreneurs, investors and researchers.
The announcement was made in partnership with the Photonics Center, the National Research Council’s Canadian Photonics Fabrication Centre in Ottawa and the Infotonics Technology Center Inc., a Canandaigua, N.Y., nonprofit corporation. More information about the alliance can be found at www.ipcalliance.org.
