Leica Microsystems AG has introduced the DMI5000 M inverted digital microscope, which brings intelligent automation to applications such as quality control inspections in industry and materials analysis in scientific research. The company says that, with its new incident-light axis, the instrument delivers brilliant images with great depth of field and high resolution in bright- and dark-field, polarization and differential interference contrast. The microscope features a steel purity module for inspection in the metalworking industry and a color intensity control device that maintains a constant color temperature of 3200 K, which prevents a red cast to images at low lamp voltages.
