Laser Research Optics, a division of Meller Optics Inc., is offering a professional lens cleaning kit for the field that includes everything necessary to remove spatter and blowback from CO2 laser optics.

The LRO Advanced Optical Cleaning Kit was developed to help prevent damage to coatings, extend lens life and improve laser performance. Supplied with step-by-step instructions, the kit includes 24 cotton balls, 24 surgical-grade finger cots, 24 lens mats, distilled water, polishing compound, reagent-grade isopropyl alcohol and acetone, and an air bulb for dust removal.

Improving transmission and increasing laser system efficiency, the kit is suited for CO2 lasers used in dirty environments. It also is effective for most precision optics such as CaF2, fused silica, germanium, sapphire, silicon, ZnSe and ZnS.
