Feb 2014Vision Research’s Phantom v2010, a 1-MP digital ultrahigh-speed camera, is almost 40 percent faster than its predecessor, the Phantom v1610, and can capture more than 22,000 fps at full resolution.
Based on proprietary sensors, the camera offers high speeds and larger (28 μm) pixels, enabling sensitivity as high as ISO 5000 (daylight illumination) for color images and ISO 25,000 for monochrome images.
Features include an image-based auto trigger; a 10-Gb Ethernet port; an internal mechanical shutter; SMPTE (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) and IRIG (inter-range instrumentation group) time code; Genlock, ready and strobe outputs; frame synchronization to internal or external clock; HD-SDI (high-definition serial digital interface) video outputs; and a component viewfinder port.
Internal fans keep the camera cool, especially during outdoor use, but they can be temporarily switched to the off position for applications sensitive to vibration, such as microscopy. The camera is suitable for scientists, researchers, engineers or anyone who needs to capture data invisible to the human eye.
