6-Axis Positioner

PI (Physik Instrumente) has added a 6-axis positioner to its family of parallel positioning devices. The H-820 was developed for applications that require multiaxis motion and high flexibility but that do not need precision on a nanometer or submicrometer level.

Driven by brushless motors, the instrument provides linear travel to 100 mm, rotary travel to 60°, load capacity of 20 kg, velocity of 20 mm/s and resolution in the micrometer range. It comes complete with a motion controller and software package.

The hexapod is suitable for applications including industrial automation and manufacturing, neuroscience, biotechnology research, micromanipulation, alignment and assembly of mechanical components, micromachining, satellite testing, sensor alignment, x-ray microscopy and medical engineering.
