TERMS
lens
A transparent optical component consisting of one or more pieces of optical glass with surfaces so curved (usually spherical) that they serve to converge or diverge the transmitted rays from an object, thus forming a real or virtual image of that...
scanning
The successive analysis or synthesizing of the light values or other similar characteristics of the components of a picture area, following a given method.
laser pattern generation
Production of a repeated image of a transmitted beam through a diffractive optical element such as a holographic card or component disk. Creating moving or stationary optical designs via a system of rapidly fluctuating mirrors (laser show).
flat-field lens
A lens that focuses on a flat plane because its field of curvature is close to zero.
telecentric lens
A lens in which the aperture stop is located at the front focus, resulting in the chief rays being parallel to the optical axis in image space; i.e., the exit pupil is at infinity.
