Specialized Infrared Coatings & Filters
Photonics MarketplaceUtilizing various coating technologies (such as magnetron sputtering and
electron beam with ion assist) Andover Corporation specializes in infrared
coatings from the near IR out to 14μm. Constructed of hard, durable firstsurface
dielectric coatings, our infrared products will withstand cleaning and
handling associated with any high-quality optical component.
Andover offers custom infrared optical coatings on a variety of substrates, in
various shapes and sizes. While generally operating at 0º to 45º, the coatings
can be optimized for any particular angle or range of angles of incidence.
Some of our custom infrared optical coatings include dual-band IRs, dichroic
beamsplitters, ultra-narrowband IR filters, antireflection and broadband
antireflection coatings.
Andover's IR neutral density filters exhibit outstanding spectral neutrality,
outperforming all others on the market. Employing metallic coatings on highquality
Germanium substrates, these ND filters utilize a combination of
absorption and reflection to provide a specific attenuation value from 2 -
14μm.
Andover can design and fabricate longwave pass filters to suit your particular
requirements. Our IR longwave pass filters provide a sharp cut-off below a
particular wavelength. Often used for order sorting, they isolate broad
regions of the spectrum, simultaneously providing high transmission of
desired energy, and deep rejection of unwanted energy.
We have an abundance of in-house testing and measuring capabilities
specifically for the infrared region and can provide documentation for
performance and traceability. We are AS9100 as well as ISO9001 certified.
Every phase of the process is performed in-house, including thin-film design,
mechanical design, substrate fabrication and coating, inspection, and
environmental testing. We coat a variety of substrate materials, including
Germanium, Sapphire, Silicon, Zinc Sulfide, and Zinc Selenide.
