Elbit to Supply Laser Systems in Israel, North America

International defense electronics company Elbit Systems Ltd. announced that it received various contracts to supply a number of types of laser systems to customers in Israel and North America.

To be delivered over the next two years, the order was received by Elbit Systems Electro-Optics Elop Ltd. (Elop), an advanced laser technology developer of diode-pumped and fiber lasers for laser designators, laser radars and laser-based airborne defense systems. The laser systems will be implemented in airborne applications, including helicopters and UAS.

“The increasing demand for advanced laser systems, specifically miniaturized designators, is due to their ability to perform with high precision and prevent collateral damage,” said Adi Dar, general manager of Elop. “Our advanced laser solutions, including our miniaturized Rattler designator for small airborne and ground applications, have enabled bringing precision targeting to use on a wider scale.”
