OLCHING, Germany, Nov. 15, 2012 — Wavelengths between 400 and 450 nm are becoming more popular for machine vision applications. Blue line lasers provide a strong contrast, particularly when measuring red objects. They are used to measure red-hot steel and also are used in the food processing industry. The shorter wavelengths produce a thinner line than their red counterparts, enabling higher resolutions.

All Laser Components GmbH’s FlexPoint MV laser modules are now available with a violet 405- and a blue 445-nm beam. Output power ranges between 1 and 400 mW.

Available beam profiles include a homogeneous line, multilines, dot matrices, crosshairs and circle lasers.

The MV series includes six models for machine vision, each designed for a specific application.
