PITTSBURGH, June 25, 2012 — Aerotech Inc.’s MPS-GR series rotary stages provide accurate, repeatable positioning in a miniature, low-profile package. Available in two sizes, the MPS50GR and MPS75GR are engineered for the confines and requirements of a laboratory or an R&D setting. They are suitable for optics, measurement, alignment and inspection applications.

Features include a precision worm-gear drive with a DC servo or stepper motor, continuous 360° rotary positioning, a graduated tabletop and high-vacuum capability.

The worm-gear drive and bearing components provide accurate and repeatable positioning. The stages are available with a 20- (MPS50GR) or 30-mm (MPS75GR) clear aperture that accommodates applications requiring mounting of an optic, including articulation of beam polarizing lenses, through-holes for cabling or air lines, and vision/camera/inspection applications. The DC servo motors are equipped with a square-wave rotary encoder, and the MPS75GR includes a manual adjustment knob.

The rotary stages deliver 80-arcsec accuracy, 1-arcsec resolution, 6-arcsec repeatability and 180°/s maximum speed. Top load capacity is 12 kg, and tilt error motion is 40 arcsec.

Both stages are available with optional vacuum preparation to 10−6 torr, including a vacuum-rated motor/feedback connector. An optional breadboard mounting plate provides direct mounting to English and metric optical tables, and a lens mount option permits easy mounting of standard lenses over the stage aperture.

Two or more stages can be mounted together in numerous combinations using standardized patterns with adapter plates and brackets.
