OBERSULM, Germany, June 12, 2012 — IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has launched a line of uEye USB 2.0, USB 3.0 and GigE cameras that use Aptina Imaging Corp.’s 5-megapixel CMOS color sensor, the MT9P006, with new A-Pix technology. The MT9P006 delivers clear, high-resolution color images and good low-light performance.

The sensor is available in the uEye USB 2.0 LE, RE, ME and SE families (UI-1580) and GigE CP, SE and RE series (UI-5580). The new USB 3 uEye CP camera (UI-3580) combines the high resolution and sensitivity of the sensor with the ultrafast USB 3.0 interface.

A-Pix technology features include a lightguide, a deep photodiode and a 65-nm-pixel design. The new third-generation Aptina A-Pix enhances quantum efficiency and minimizes crosstalk to capture sharp images with vibrant colors, even in low-light conditions.

The cameras are suitable for use in industrial inspection and machine vision.
