SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Feb. 23, 2012 — BNC Scientific, a division of Berkeley Nucleonics, is offering a fast commercial lock-in amplifier produced by Zurich Instruments. The UHFLI (ultrahigh-frequency lock-in amplifier) performs measurements as high as 600 MHz.

It extends Zurich Instruments’ scientific support and BNC Scientific’s instruments for high-end research into the fields of quantum and nanophysics, laser spectroscopy and bioengineering.

The design allows for high performance of signal analysis. The UHFLI is an all-in-one box instrument, demodulating signals up to 600 MHz and providing 100-dB dynamic reserve over the entire frequency range. The lock-in amplifier performs domain signal analysis and uses several instruments combined in a single device. The time/frequency toolbox includes an oscilloscope, a frequency response analyzer and a fast Fourier transform spectrum analyzer, simplifying many laboratory steps.

In the past, scientists, biologists and chemists have had to build custom instruments or run between instruments to measure frequencies of up to 600 MHz. Now they can spend more time on their research.
