Craic Technologies Inc. has introduced the 308 PV microscope colorimeter
designed to be added to an open photoport of a microscope or probe station to provide
spectroscopy, color imaging, thin-film thickness measurement and colorimetry capabilities.
It enables the user to collect transmission, reflectance, polarization, fluorescence
and luminescence spectra. The UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometer can nondestructively
analyze the color of many types of microscopic samples. Featuring proprietary Lightblades
technology, the device can measure the color of microscopic sample areas by transmission
and incident illumination. The color from fluorescence and other types of emissions
also can be determined. Applications include colorimetry of pixels on flat panel
displays, reflectometry of vitrinite coal and source rock, development of lighting,
colorimetry of LCD and organic LEDs, surface plasmon resonance development, biotechnology
research, and thin-film measurements of optics and semiconductors.
