Ocean Optics Inc. has introduced the QF600-8-VIS/NIR, a fiber optic fluorescence probe designed to eliminate backreflection from excitation radiation. The probe uses one flat fiber for detection and seven angled ones that direct excitation energy to the region in front of the detection fiber. An adjustable window can facilitate choosing the depth of overlap, depending upon the excitation wavelength. Standard length is 2 m, with custom lengths available.
