The KiloArcT illumination system has been announced by
Optical Building Blocks Corp. The device offers >100 W of optical power in less than an 8-mm-diameter area. The integrated light source includes power supply, starter, high-efficiency collection optics and lamp housing. Either a 1000-W xenon or xenon-mercury lamp can be used. Lamps are pre-aligned and easy to change, with no tools required. The system’s footprint measures 0.375 × 0.489 m.
