Omicron Laserage Laserprodukte GmbH has unveiled the LDM series, temperature-controlled laser diode modules with more than 1000 mW at 445 nm. With dimensions of 19 × 9 × 5 cm, they have applications in machine vision, wafer inspection, fluorescence excitation and laser annealing and as a blue illumination source for spatial light modulators and digital light processing chips. The “Bluephotons,” with an M2 value of two to three, offer suitable beam quality and can be focused to a few microns. They can be equipped with focusing lenses, fiber couplings or customized lens systems, and they are available in CW or modulated versions and in wavelengths from 375 to 1064 nm.
