Rolyn Optics Company has released the manual VNHT and the automated VMHT-MOT microhardness testers. Both models provide 12 steps of test force and can be used as a simple brightfield microscope. The approach velocity of the indenter can be selected between 25 and 60 μm/s, and Vickers and Knoop indenters are available. Connectable through RS-232 or Centronic interfaces, the automated model has a motor-driven turret and computer interface that can be equipped with the USB camera VM4-USB to record and save images.
