LASER MIRRORS Precision Photonics Corp. has announced laser mirrors and wide-acceptance-angle Brewster-angle polarizers based on proprietary ion-beam-sputtered coating technology. The hard coatings form covalent bonds that result in densely packed nonporous structures. Advantages over conventional coatings include lower scatter and absorption losses, fewer pinhole defects, higher laser damage thresholds, better adhesion and insensitivity to moisture. Stock mirrors include broadband visible, dispersion-flattened Ti:sapphire, high-power and doubled high-power YAG, and telecom in S-, C- and L-band versions. The Brewster-angle polarizers offer guaranteed optical performance at a 56° angle of incidence.
