Rolyn Optics says its pellicle beamsplitters offer minimal absorption, distortion, chromatic aberration, ghosting and astigmatism. The pellicle is an ultrathin, 2-µm membrane made from optical-grade nitrocellulose. It is bonded to the face of a precision- lapped hard anodized aluminum frame that has been optically polished for flatness. The standard pellicles are stocked uncoated. They have a transmission/reflection ratio of 90/10% throughout the visible and near-IR regions.
