Power Technology Inc.'s IQ4 laser diode module is designed for high-end OEM
applications that require ultrastable wavelengths and output powers, such as fluorescence, spectroscopy, interferometry, display, microscopy and high-resolution printing. It features a precision current source and a PID temperature controller and comes with 20-MHz analog or 100-MHz digital beam modulation. The unit measures 1.50 in. in diameter and 7.52 in. in length, and operates in either constant current or automatic power control mode. It will accommodate most fiber-coupled 14-pin butterfly, DIP and DIL packages, allowing users to incorporate distributed feedback laser diodes, as well as those that are intended only for telecommunications, into its compact housing.
