Oz Optics Ltd. has released a test system that is capable of measuring polarization-dependent losses as small as 0.005 dB. The system's polarization scrambler randomly sweeps through all possible polarizations while the transmitted signals are measured by a detector module for all wavelengths from 1290 to 1620 nm. Results are displayed on a touch screen with a Windows CE operating environment and are stored in a spreadsheet format.
